Historical Background
On June 1, 1796, President George Washington signed the bill granting statehood to Tennessee, making it the 16th state of the United States. Before this, the land was part of North Carolina and later known as the Southwest Territory. To honor this milestone, the Jack Daniel Distillery released the Bicentennial edition in 1995—a 750ml bottle filled with 96 proof (48% ABV) whiskey, complete with a numbered hang tag and original box packaging.
